Church musician? Yes! Liturgist? No!

Another blogger from around the diocese has an interesting post up in which he discusses his position as a paid parish liturgist. It is my experience that such a position (unless it is exclusively as a professional musician, in which case we would more properly use the term Music Director") is generally unneccesary but symptomatic of the inflation in parish staffs which has occurred mainly over the past three decades.
I would be interested in hearing from other Catholics (laity, priests and professional church employees - even liturgists) on this score
